Woke up today at 8:30. Fed breakfast to Mini V and my grandson, Dillon, I steamed the yams, then I started making pies. I made soda cracker pie *yummier than it sounds*, pecan pie and two pumpkin pies. Finished baking the pies about noon, made lunch for Mini V and Dillon and fixed oatmeal for my partner, and got the turkey in the oven about 1pm. Got the green bean casserole ready fr the oven as well as the candies yams, minus the marshmallows. The turkey was done by 4:30 and thats when I started the potatoes to steam for mashed potatoes. Once the potatoes were done, I placed the casserole, yams, extra stuffing and rolls in the oven and mashed the potatoes and made the gravy. We were eating by 6 and OMG! it was so good! I dont know if I out did myself for reals or if Thanks Giving food tastes that much better when you havent had anything else to eat all day. Didnt really have time to eat, I was busy cooking! Got to spend lots of time giggling and cooing with my granddaughter and obviously my grandson too, but he spent most of his time playing with Mini V. Im so glad they play together now and dont just spend time fighting, screaming and crying anymore. Considering how much I did today, it was remarkably stress free and relaxing. And Daenerys tried some new food. She thought it was so nummy! So much going on and excitement today that she was a very tired little baby by the time we left to take them over to the other grandmas house. I hope she gets some sleep tonight, shes teething on top of everything else.
