Woking Beat (Surrey Police) Surrey Police Anniversary visit following attempted robbery in Goldsworth Park 24/11/2014 - 13:29 Officers from Surrey Police will be out in the Goldsworth Park area of Woking this afternoon (Monday, 24 November) to carry out enquiries following an attempted robbery in the area a week ago. A 32-year-old wheelchair user was the victim of the offence when he was approached from behind by a man who threatened himand demanded money. The incident happened at around 5.30pm as the victim went from Bampton Way towards an alleyway leading to Halleys Approach.As a result of the attempted robbery the victim was shocked but uninjured. Detectives and members of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be in the vicinity of Bampton Way and the parade of shops asking people if they have any information about the incident. Police would like to hear from anyone who sawthe interaction between this victim and their attacker. Woking Neighbourhood Inspector Nolan Heather said: This was a shocking offence and I would encourage the community to come forward if anyone has any detail which might help detectives with the investigation.
