Wolf People has been working nonstop for over twenty years now to educate the public about wolves and battle the damaging myths that seem to dictate the (mis)management of America;s wild wolves. Over the past several months, Nancy Taylor, the owner of Wolf People, has been put under tremendous pressure from an issue stemming from an ex-employee named Shelby Brower. Recommended to Nancy by a friend, she initially came across as pleasant, hardworking and responsible, so Nancy hired her to work at Wolf People. In time it was discovered that Shelby had started a photography website featuring pictures she had taken of Woilf Peoples wolves while working. The photographs of our wolves had no trace of recognition, affiliation, or credit given to Wolf People. When questioned, she had no answer as to why she wasnt mentioning Wolf People and Nancy asked her to be sure to start doing so. However, Shelby continued going to great lengths to avoid publicly mentioning Wolf People. Nancy specifically requested for Shelby to acknowledge Wolf People on a YouTube video starring one of our wolves named Maiah. The video, which went viral with over 600,000 views, could have brought much needed attention to Wolf People and helped us to spread positive wolf education. Shelby refused to add Wolf People to the video description. Nancy Taylor simply wanted Wolf People to be given some acknowledgement to increase publicity and awareness to the educational sanctuary, thereby helping both our wolves and our mission to help save wolves in the wild. However, Shelby’s intentions and actions had shown her to seemingly have an opposite agenda. Moreover, it was later found out that Shelby was selling pictures and other merchandise featuring Wolf People’s wolves for her own profit. Shelby had been doing this for months without Nancys knowledge or permission. When Shelby was caught and confronted about her actions, she announced that she would be quitting and gave her two-weeks-notice. Nancy, was rightfully offended and upset at Shelby’s attitude and it was agreed that Shelby would no longer work there. Shortly after leaving, Shelby began her efforts to harass and trouble Wolf People by producing and sending false reports to local authorities in an attempt to have the facility shut down. The main agency she pursued was Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG). Recently, Idaho Fish and Game has filed for a legal hearing against Wolf People to try to have the facility shut down! Due to this chain of events, we no longer consider Shelby a supporter of wolves or an associate of Wolf People. Wolf People needs all of our supporters to help us now, in this most pressing of times. We have a great need for assistance from the public to pursue fighting this case in order to save Wolf People. We are accepting any means of support whether it be financially or otherwise. If you would like to donate to Wolf People, you can do so through the website. Thank you, and we appreciate your support.
