What seem to be Women Empowerment makes me tend to think is Women Dispowerment.... or its a ratio of women empowerment. I highly support all this in the name of empowerment....but it is also vital i give another perspective Think of the young women back in our so called villages,slums,streets etc keep them at the back of your mind as we continue exploring.... Think of these conferences and seminars whose entrance fee is 500 Ksh and not less which may be a slums woman weekly salary and i cant even start budgeting it for her.... Think of the venues: around CBD may be or name all the places you may be have seen in posters which i doubt attendance unless you fully sponsor the transport.... Think of the social class that would be attending these conferences and think of whether if you were a woman i earlier talked about, would gather the courage to make a move of attending... just to leave your kids hungry, in tatters and name all images you can imagine they would posses... Think of the physical, emotional, social ,and financial struggles of this women ....... And just tell me if you were in their shoes---- Would you rise above your daily issues, Assume they dont at all exist..... and just blindly attend or join these movements.... My independent answer seem to be No! unless you persuade me to think otherwise which i promise you you cant unless again you are a sample of my background description and in such a case you are a special exemption And here comes my point, Lets take these women Empowerment initiatives towards where the need is critical and lets be more of doers and not theorists..... #ThisAreOurRoots
