Woman hit by vehicle dies Sunday Rachael Van Horn 08/10/2014 4:44 PM A woman hit by a vehicle south of Woodward late Saturday night died from her injuries Sunday at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Erica Chairez, 22, of Woodward, had been transported by mid-flight from the Woodward Regional Hospital to OU Medical Center with head and trunk internal and external injuries, said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. According to the OHP report, Chairez was hit by a white pickup just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday night. Her vehicle was parked on the west side of the road and she was in the roadway walking toward her vehicle when she was hit by the pickup. The OHP said the pickup, which apparently didnt stop, possibly has damage to the front right side, to a a smoke gray headlight cover, the right front tire and possibly the right rear tire. The accident happened three miles south of Woodward on 8th Street. It was investigated by Trooper Mike Fike with assistance from the Woodward County Sheriffs Department and Woodward Fire and EMS.
