Woman sues city to block Meijer store A woman trying to block Meijer’s Green Bay Road store has sued the city, saying it violated its own ordinances when it approved a permit for the massive store. The lawsuit filed in Kenosha County Circuit Court Sept. 4 claims the city should never have approved the conditional use permit it granted to allow the Meijer store to be built at the southeast corner of Green Bay Road and 76th Street. Plaintiff Virginia Hoekstra says in the suit that the conditional use permit should not be allowed to stand, because the city violated its own rules on store size, parking and pre-development assessments of the project.
