Womens Day : Bikhubdo Nari Samaj programme for 8th March. Truck rally around Dhaka city from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm beginning at Shahbagh and ending at Shahbagh. Men fighting against all forms of Patriarchy are included. At 2.55 pm sharp, the main programme starts at Shahbagh, in front of National Museum, will end by 5.00 pm sharp, to give space for other organisations and programmes and others to attend many other programmes. Am inviting all friends and their friends, through facebook to attend!! The programme will be as follows: Songs, recitation from feminist poems, monologues/ readings on the garment sector including Rana Plaza, Tazreen as well as from the CHT will be performed; along with one of our leading authors reading from her own writing; most exciting, an inter-generational dialogue between women established in their own fields and young students will take place. Thanks to all our Artist friends, canvas, markers, paints will be provided, where our major and leading women artists along with those men artists who believe in equality, will be painting, sketching, drawing etc. An interactive session with the audience being invited to join and put their mark on the canvas is the main thrust. Just sign, write whatever you wish, a favourite quote, a line from a poem, just draw a line, a brush stroke, a motif, anything. Anything that expresses your own feelings about the situation of women within a patriarchal system. Express your creativity! This will continue through out the 2 hours, while the other programme goes on. We promise that this will be a programme that will make you think, act and rise to change the existing system based on a continued perpetuation of womens subordinaton, collectively!! All this, tightly contained within a time span of less than 2 hours. Women from all walks of life, and all ages, along with children, boys, men in all their diversity welcome! [~ বিক্ষুব্ধ নারী সমাজ]
