Wonderful World of Kaylee… So, this morning I took Kaylee to - TopicsExpress

Wonderful World of Kaylee… So, this morning I took Kaylee to the Violin Shop to have a string replaced on her Violin. I also want to see about exchanging her bow, because when she first got it, she decided to use a Sharpie and decorate it with black stripes. I never understood why she did that until today… Me: Good Morning Sir. We would like to have the D string replaced on this Violin. Also, I would like to know if the insurance policy we purchased would cover the repair or replacement of this Bow. As you can see it has been decorated by the lovely little artist that is here with me right now. It hasn’t affected the sound, so if it’s not covered, we’ll hold onto it for a bit longer. Shop Employee: (Smiles at Kaylee) That’s fine! We can have this string replaced in a couple of minutes and we can exchange the bow no problem. You don’t have to change the bow if it’s not affecting the sound though. It’s totally fine. Me: Good, let’s go ahead and switch it out. Just out of curiosity; how much do bows this size cost. I remembered showing her how expensive Violins and Bows can be so that she would understand how important it is to take care of her instrument. I remembered seeing some big price tags on some of the bows because they are made out of actual horse hair… (Light Bulb! My eyes opened wide and my jaw dropped and I looked down at Kaylee) Kaylee: What daddy? Me: Why did you draw the stripes on the bow? Kaylee: (Grabbing on my leg because she’s getting super shy and nervous around the Shop Employee) Because, Daddy… Me: Did you want ZEBRA horse hair on your violin bow? Kaylee: Yes, Daddy. Me: (To the Shop Employee) Ok, we’ll keep the bow. Kaylee: THANK YOU DADDY! Took me a solid 5 min. to stop laughing.
