Woodstown High School Bulletin for Thursday December 11, 2014 “Celebrating 100 Years of Pride, Tradition, & Excellence; Once a Wolverine, Always a Wolverine” WHS Concert Choir: The Woodstown High School Chamber Choir was selected as one of the finalists in a radio competition sponsored by NJ101.5 and we need your vote! Our rendition of Jolly Old St. Nicholas will be played around noon on Monday, 12/15 and then listeners can vote for us online for the following 24 hours. The winning high school gets $1,000.00 . . . which we will use towards new choir risers if we win. WHS Winter Spirit Week: Spirit Week will be held Monday, December 15th to Friday, December 19th. Don’t forget, the homeroom with the highest percentage of participation receives a free breakfast celebration and bragging rights! The spirit week themes are as follows: Monday: Pajama Day, Tuesday: Tie Dye Day, Wednesday: Holiday Mismatch Day, Thursday: Sports Apparel Day, and Friday: Class Color Day. See an SGA advisor or officer for more information. WHS Project Graduation Sweetheart Bingo: Save the date! Project Graduation is hosting a Sweetheart Bingo featuring bags from your favorite designers such as Michael Kors, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, and Vera Bradley. The event is being held Friday, February 6 in the WHS gymnasium. Doors open at 6:30, games begin promptly at 7. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from one of the PG advisors: Meghan Taylor, Janie Coleman, and Nikole Vogel. Email [email protected] for more information or to purchase tickets. December Wolverines: Please congratulate Gabrielle Bonowski and Devon Bell on being named Wolverines for the Month of December. December Rotarian: Please congratulate Georgia Lucas on being named the Rotarian for the Month of December. ASVAB Testing: Attention Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors: WHS will be hosting the ASVAB test for Military Entrance and Career Exploration on Wednesday, January 14th from 11:30am-2:30pm in the library. Students who take the ASVAB that day and who have 6th period lunch will need to attend 5th period lunch and report to the ASVAB immediately after lunch. If you plan to take the ASVAB on Wednesday, January 14th, please contact Mrs. Heyel at [email protected] or stop in Guidance and sign up with Ms. Jenkins. Classes at SCC: SCC will be offering the following four “afternoon college courses” for high school students only at the Salem County Vocational Technical School this Spring semester: - ENG 101 – English Composition I - SOC 101 – Introduction to Sociology - ETH 200 – Ethics in the Modern World - BIO 213 – General Ecology The cost of these classes is only $50 per credit, no fees ($150 total per class). WHS Softball Scrapbooking Fundraiser: The WHS Softball Team is hosting a Crop Till You Drop Scrapbooking Fundraiser on Saturday, February 21, 2015, 8AM-8PM. Bring your personal photos and scrapbooking the supplies and we will provide the space, food, and fun! The day will include breakfast, lunch, a hot dinner, and snacks. Vendors, contests, prizes and a massage therapist (additional cost) will be there too!
