Woooooo- home sweet home. Heres a tour recap. If you care listen here, if you aint with it then skip it. Took a 9 hour train ride from Münster Germany to Salzburg austria. What a beautiful city. Gardens everywhere. Motzart was born there and I stopped by his old place. There was a festival going on and I listened to a band and drank big beers and drank plum shnapps. Played with a band of Austrian boys named bastard radio. Great band. Great guys. Next day took a train to Atnang-puccheim Austria to play equality fest. Got off the train kind of lost and 2 kids walked me to the venue. The kindness of strangers carries me. When I got there they immediately started giving me shots of this green stuff called aqva which is some weird coca leaf booze. This dude who looked like the Kool aid guy headlined the show beatboxing and I stayed in a little hotel with a sad looking King holding a beer painted on the side. The next day a bunch of folks took me to a baseball game. Mind blown. Austrian minor league baseball. Had a burger and Budweiser too. I wont forget that day. The kindness of strangers. Took a train to Vienna with the bastard radio guys. There was still some of that green shit left and we drank it. They also have vending machines on Austrian trains that sell beer. Did I mention I love Austria? Played at a bar called spice. Someone called the cops while I was playing. ?? It was a bar in the middle of the city. Maybe they dont like the new songs? Had 2 days off in Vienna. Mary the promoter was kind enough to let me crash. Shes opening a bar called polka dots. I told her you let me crash so put me to work. We hit ikea and built stuff. Then we cooked filet and pasta with pumpkin sauce. Vienna is amazing. The kindness of strangers. Took a train to Graz Austria. One of my favorite cities in the world. Started a 3 day/show run with a band from Cleveland called signals midwest. Within about 10 minutes of meeting I felt like i had known these guys for 10 years. Lots of beers and laughs. And their band is amazing. Like the melodic stuff I loved back in the day when it was really good. These guys rip. We went to the music Haus after the show and danced to Desmond dekker and drank some drinks made with 5 different colored vodka. I woke up the next morning with half of a doner kebap in my pocket. And I dont eat that shit. Womp womp. Hitched a ride with signals to Micheldorf Austrian. Kind of middle of nowhere stunningly beautiful place. Really fun show. After the show we got up and played some cover songs and drank shots. We got to our hotel which turned out to be an abandoned building in the woods that everyone agreed was pretty haunted. I had a great time. Is it bad that these situations arent the least bit strange to me anymore? Long but beautiful drive to St. Gallan Switzerland. Another one of my favorite places on earth. My 3rd or 4th time here. The promoter Marco is one of my favorite people in the world to talk to and also he always makes us drink this weird shit called appenzeller. It makes you smile and dance. A band called idle class, great punk band also from Münster, was headlining. Last night with the signals midwest guys so we really tied one on but we also all played really great sets. Max sang cryin shame with me and nailed the harmonies. Marco said his mom loved me. Drove 9 hours home with idle class back to Münster. Slept. Woke up. Train to Bielefeld. Played in a little spot in a parking garage that actually sounded amazing and the place was packed. Played with a band from Quebec called the hunters. They spent thanksgiving at my house back in Richmond a few years ago. They are amazing. Check them out. Got to show everyone how bad my German AND my French is. My brain feels like a week old bowl of alphabet soup these days. Drank bad red wine. Passed out. Woke up. Train back to Münster. Laying in bed feeling like a bag of hot garbage. Had a blast. Until next time.
