Word seems to be going around about my new surprise pension-- at least in my own apartment, or maybe just in my own head. My laptop has apparently died. I turn it on and the lights begin to blink. But it shuts back down after about a minute-and-a-half without ever displaying anything on the screen. Now I have to decide whether I should try to get it fixed, or buy a new one, or.... Do I actually need a laptop given how little I travel and how little I do with the computer on the road? My phone does e-mail and would play the games and multimedia stuff if I choose to do that. I have gotten into the habit of firing up the laptop while watching TV and something or other needs to be googled. But I could use the phone for that. Part of me says, "Oh go spend the money! You know you want to." Choices, choices.... :)
