Words. Linguistics... History ... The history of Mankind. I believe that, within Language, ALL of mankinds history is hidden, all the way back to the very first events that we Humans encountered. Its a bit complicated, with changes in the way words were used, the way words were pronounced arising in miss spellings, changes in spellings due to religious cover overs and substitutes, ways that letters were written too, whether with chisels or charcoal or blood or quills and ink... or Capitalisation (z) or the printed letters ... all the way up to today, when we battle with foreign spellings impeding on languages to shorten words, with spell checkers or even TXTs and symbols which gain new meanings by the hour, but basically, if one was able to piece together the known archaeological events and turning points in mankinds history, then overlay that with logical simplicity, cultural and social values, even economics and past politics and wars and battles, with a bit of phonetics (from Phoenicia) and Latin (from Rome) , some Ye Old English (with all its swear words and foreign word inclusions) and Arabic and Aramaic .... wed end up with a very accurate description of mankinds experiences right through history, way back all the way to Aboriginal Africa, Mayan South America, Northern Scythian Russia, Pre-Mongolian China and probably back to when the first hominids banged two rocks together making a cracking sound. (Onomatopoeia) ... who knows, we may (Mayan) even (eleven 11 Parallel / Flat) find that we really did arrive here from another Planet... in Space craft.. or we really did slither out of the Oceans on our hands and knees ... across the sands and up into the trees... whatever. I think, if someone far more clever than I, spent half a lifetime working it all out, with the aid of modern technology and the few remaining ancient manuscripts and tables of stone, wed have all of history, laid wide open with deadly accuracy. Words. We take them for granted sometimes. I was going to post the song Say something Im giving up on you, but to be perfectly honest, I think that song is as boring as all hell... LOL... so Talk to me by Stevie Nicks fits the bill much better. Enjoy. ~ Andy M. Beattie
