Words can not express the profound emotions I felt this weekend! Max Silverman spoke so eloquently and passionately at Bates College TEDx Talk on Saturday to a sold out audience about our familys very personal experience with mental illness and the need to reduce stigma! Max, I am so proud: you are making a difference in the world and inspiring others to do the same! On Monday, Active Minds at Bates College sponsored screenings of Illness the Movie, followed by a presentation about the stigma of mental illness, to over 140 students and faculty! What an amazing group of young people! Maxs text to me afterwards made me cry: Thanks for a fantastic weekend. I think we did a lot of great work. I am simply beaming!!
