Words from my beautiful client, Wenna Savvy: When it comes to reaching my goals, I am a strong believer in having the right support through partnerships. Whether it’s a doctor or a hairdresser, I believe in surrounding myself with people I can trust and build up ongoing relationships with. My approach to my body is no different. Nearly two years after my first, unsuccessful, attempt at figure competition, I decided it was time to find a coach. My goal this time, however, was to find someone with whom I could built up a relationship, and who could help me find out the best way to manage my diet day to day, to have a healthy body and lifestyle, without being dependent on huge amounts of cardiovascular activity to maintain it. The prospect of competing appealed to me, but it was not something I was prepared to consider until I had a strong foundation and the right support. After my previous unsuccessful attempt, and now armed with a nutrition qualification, it was paramount that whoever I worked with be someone who cut through so much of the misinformation out there, and whose ethic wasn’t driven by supplement brands or fad trends. While I have an excellent personal trainer, it was important to me to have a strong, female mentor, who was appropriately qualified and experienced, and would also be someone who would be invested in me as a client. I asked my PT for a suggestion, and he recommended Amy straight away. I emailed her, we caught up for coffee shortly after, and agreeing to go forward was probably the best decision I made in that year. I have been working with Amy for eight months now, and am now confidently and comfortably preparing to hit the stage. During this time I have learned so much about my body, and through many ups and downs in the gym, kitchen and life, have relied on Amy’s tireless support and guidance. I am so happy to count her, and the wonderful network she has connected me to, amongst my friends, and am excited for what the future brings our growing friendship and partnership.
