#WordsOfWisdom from @iamunscared #Running101 - Video 1. Cadence 178 (both feet) / 89 1 foot. Loss of energy (muscle-tendon elasticity) through ground reaction forces. I am on the ground too long and therefore am eating up more muscle energy in an attempt to re-create what is lost. This will result in metabolic overload, or sacrificing technique for physiology. The sacrifice is REAL and can result in long term injury if not dealt with. If you find it hard to transition to a higher cadence than 180/90 you can bet youve probably dealt with injuries or will be dealing with them. This is also the I hate running issue. Well, when youre on the ground working too much, it should suck. Video 2. Cadence at 192/96 where my comfort level is. Highly efficient, and utilizing muscle-tendon elasticity as impact is minimal to the point of my legs & body absorbing impact and allowing me to re-bound that energy by returning to my running position through pulling. Remember, the ideal position is the point where I can be in figure 4, STABLE, and then fall - where I froze the first pic of this segment. Anything under 180/90 is inefficient... Try jumping rope at 90 on a metronome. Lesson learned. #UnbreakableRunner #run #Unscared
