Worked outside from dawn to dusk both Saturday and Sunday, and made some wonderful progress on the grounds. Weeded and mulched a 100 foot long roadside garden that comes up to my barn, rototilled and weeded for four hours today in veggie garden, ALMOST done weeding, asparagus is left to do. Mowed for 3 hours. Chopped down lowhanging branches that are always in my way for mowing - burned the pile both days. Chopped down a ton of Japanese knotwood and crazy elderberries...trimmed back so we can drive the tractor on the path again. Added a bunch of brick pavers to edge my herb garden. Mulched some more. Weeded beets and kale. Im too tired to even remember it all, but wow, does it feel good to look around and see things coming together! Three more island flower gardens to do next weekend, weeding and mulching, then I will start transplanting extra peonies and phlox and daylilies around the house to fill the spots where I dug out all those old shrubs. Phew! I am almost there!
