Workforce Development - Quoting from the Randolph County Economic Development Strategic Plan - page 7 WEAKNESS - Lack of quality workforce and capacity It was identified as one of two top concerns (weaknesses) in Randolph County. So, heres an idea... Provide FREE ridesharing to employees and expand the potential workforce out to a 45 mile radius. This will allow companies in Randolph County to attract potential employees from north western Dayton and north eastern Indianapolis. The 45 mile radius was chosen as that could represent a 1 hour commute (the wider the radius - the larger the workforce pool). If the employer was paying for this (might be funded by a 50/50 Economic Development / employer funding OR be funded by Federal Grants), then, the employee would save lots of money on gas and would be incentivized to continue to work at a local company. At some point, the employee might want to move closer to work... thereby creating increased housing demand.
