Working as an emergency room nurse, I see a lot of different - TopicsExpress

Working as an emergency room nurse, I see a lot of different people from all walks of life and many different cultures. I also call a lot of names from our ER waiting room, a lot of names, and I sure as hell know that some of those names are just made up. If you just put random letters together and call it a first name, that’s your problem, don’t look at me like I’m the dumb shit because I can’t pronounce it.I am fully aware that people from other countries have different “normal” first names but I can usually at least sound my way through them. I’m talking about people from our country that have obviously not mastered the English language, or looked up after child-birth and named their child after the first thing that comes into their line of sight. “Fluorescent” is not a real first name and is in fact a first name I have come a cross!!! Oh and it is not a family name either. I would love someone to trace the roots of that name to some ones ancestors. So maybe it’s a tribal thing, NOT A CHANCE! People are trying so hard to make their spawn stand out and unique, that they have tagged them as a joke to anyone that ever calls their name. Good Job mom and dad, wait, dad is probably MIA, but that’s a whole different blog.
