Working on my next book of political essays/letters (follow-up to “We Can Be The Outcome”) and WOW! Look what I found. I wrote this letter to Sara Palin in 2008; a week after she and Sen. McCain lost. I guess she didnt read the letter. Alaskan Governor Sara Palin, Senator McCain and you had no chance of being elected to the White House. President-elect Obama was just too strong, too intelligent and he put together a masterful campaign that historians will be studying for hundreds of years. You were never ready to be Vice President and it was clear as you consistently in a sense, fell on your face during the campaign. However, Gov. Palin, what I saw was how energized the base became because of you and I believe you have accomplished something that no modern Republican had done since Reagan; you united the Republican Party. The defeat of McCain’s Presidential run was complete and speaking bluntly; humiliating. He will never recover from it - but you can. Go home, Gov. Palin. Review the mistakes you made – there were plenty. Study and improve upon your domestic and foreign policy intellect because at this point, a 10th grader would ride circles around you on those subjects. Cut the silly talk out about Mr. Obama hanging out with terrorists and talk about how you’d effectively fix America’s crumbling infrastructure and how you will with Democrats to make the nation prosperous for all of its citizens. Complete your term as governor; maybe run for another term and quite possibly, in 2016, America will begin to take you serious and as a legitimate Presidential candidate.
