Workshop on Critical Language Scholarship Program: Overview with Presentations from Past UR Participants Thursday, October 23rd, Gowen Room, 2:00-3:00 pm The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. * CLS offers 13 languages in intensive overseas summer programs (8-10 wks) for students with strong academic and career-related interest in developing language and cultural proficiency in less commonly studied languages in the US, such as Arabic, Persian (1 yr of previous study); Chinese, Japanese, Russian (2 yrs of previous study); Bangla, Punjabi, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Turkish, Urdu, and Azerbaijani (no previous study required). * Open to freshman through graduate students in any major who are U.S. citizens.
