World Cup Victory: Mimiko congratulates Nigerians The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, yesterday sentcongratulatory messages to President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigerians, the Golden Eaglets and the Coach of the team, Manu Garba on the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup victory in United Arab Emirates. Mimiko in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Eni Akinsola said I join millions of Nigerians in congratulating the U-17 Golden Eaglets, the technical crew, the President and indeed Nigerians on this well-deserved victory and see it as one reason for Nigerians to be hopeful about the fortunes of the country. He said the trajectory of the Golden Eaglets march to victory in a way shows the possibilities for us as a Nation if we work together and lift our country up. From outright cynicism, indifference and then to believe, the young lads showed confidence in themselves and were united in fighting for the eventual victory of the team and the country. The team showing a common Nigerian strength of character moved from their superb first match, marched on with determination, beating the favourites along the way and finally winning the trophy for the 4th time. These show that even with our challenges in perspective, we can look at the country and give it the needed fillip to come out stronger and better, Mimiko said
