Brad and his wife Cindy have owned and operated Guatemalan Billfishing Adventures together with Steve Cothron of Austin, Texas, who owns their 40-foot Gamefisherman Decisive. Their exclusive lodge is located on a private channel within a luxury community and caters to a discerning clientele and families who enjoy the private surroundings, special service and fine dining and attention to detail for which their operation is known. Philipps has won The Billfish Foundation’s Top Overall Release Captain Award for 11 years in a row and also Top Pacific Sailfish Release Captain for the same time frame and Top Release Captain for Pacific Blue Marlin for three of the past six years. Top days for Philipps include as many as 91 sailfish released in a single day on conventional tackle, 73 releases for a single angler in one day on conventional tackle, 51 releases for a single angler in one day on fly tackle, and as many as 2,759 billfish releases in a single year, with six blue marlin in a single day and 97 blue marlin releases in a single year on Decisive.
