World Renowned Ultra Distance Runner UNITED STATES - An extraordinary athlete, Stan Cottrell, has now run over 200,000 miles -- thats over eight times around the world. After 56 years of running, hes received over 400 awards, has received commendations from four presidents, has had ten Senate and House Resolutions passed in his honor, and has appeared on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, David Letterman, and even at the White House. Stan set a Guinness World Record for running across the United States -- 3,103 miles - in just 48 days (thats an average of 66 miles per day), and has even run from the Great Wall of China to Guangzhou. He has been inducted into the Healthy American Fitness Leaders Association in cooperation with the Presidents Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (Referred to as The Oscar of Fitness). Stan is most well-known for his friendship runs where he has now run 38 entire countries on his own two feet. Stan Cottrell is 68 years old.
