World Tourism Day (WTD), celebrated every year on 27 September, is a global observance to highlight tourism’s social, cultural, political and economic value. At Odyssey World we take our responsibility to the local communities and environments that we visit very seriously and ensure that where possible we make contributions through our holidays to local projects or charities. From sponsoring our very own Orangutan, Beryl in Borneo to supporting the work of the Jordan River Foundation and many more. WTD 2014 is being held under the theme Tourism and Community Development - focusing on the ability of tourism to empower people and provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities. WTD is the perfect time to reflect upon your responsibilities and impact as a traveller visiting other communities. Remember: •Buy local •Respect the culture you are visiting •Protect heritage •Save energy •Protect the surroundings •Respect the environment vimeo/106790790
