Would love any guidance/feedback from my fellow riders: On 9/23 I was accosted by a VA Crossroads Annex administration staff member at the parking area next to the front entrance after I completed my appointment with my counselor & was preparing myself to leave. This confrontation consisted of several unsolicited opening statements by the staff member including: do you know how to ride this?, thats dangerous!. I ignored the first two statements & was hoping he would realize that I am politely ignoring him. He then continued by asking, what is this? – I replied & asked, its a camera, do you also tell firefighters they could get burned or remind police that they could be shot while on duty?. This is also the same person who checked me in - I had to be able to ride correctly in order to make it to my appointment. He then explains that he has a Harley Davidson that he rides occasionally which disappoints his wife. Yet feels the need to remind me, thats dangerous! while looking over my 250cc motorcycle which I was about to ride on SR-436 in medium density traffic. He shouldnt bother a rider that has their helmet on & is being quiet. Furthermore, he asked a question he already knew the answer to. I had not said a word to this person after my appointment & had only said, “thank you” to him when he checked me in. I live 28 miles one way from the VA Crossroads Annex. I save money on fuel by riding a small motorcycle. It is legally/currently tagged, registered & insured in my name. I have a current motorcycle & safe driver endorsement on my driver’s license. I politely excused myself as I had to start my journey before rainy weather started. The staff member then went directly back inside. He did not proceed to another door or go to another vehicle – from my perspective, he specifically left the clinic to mentally & verbally harass me. How would YOU politely deal w/ this sort of situation?
