Would love to tell everybody how much I am ready to move from this - TopicsExpress

Would love to tell everybody how much I am ready to move from this state. Had a class in Waco today. Got up there with no problem. Temps today in the 80s however they had the temp in the classroom so cold that I had chillbumps under my heavy winter sweater. Left Waco and get to Temple and there is a 4 car pile up on the interstate so I end up sitting there for an hour which was ok. Cars around me taking the emergency lane to try to speed up the process, I can deal with that. But then when traffic does start to move, my car would not. I could not get the thing to shift out of park. I turn on my blinkers and call 911 and the dispatcher then wants to know exactly where on the interstate I am. I dont know. I am in all of the traffic from the car accident on the interstate. I am on a bridge and there are not any signs to tell me where I am. Cars just sit behind me waiting for me to go and I have the emergency blinkers on. I get out of my car 3 times to tell them, my car is broken and I cant move it. No one even asks if I need help. But cars are really good at blowing their horn at me and hollering, Move it as they speed by. Finally a good Samaritan stops and tries to help. He even crawls under my car to see if he can figure out what happened, and discovers that the shift cable is dangling. After an hour of waiting a constable pulls up and asks what the problem is. I told him and that I had called 911 about 1 hour prior and that I had called my repair shop about 1 hour prior and both were suppose to be sending a tow truck. He waits with me and the good Samaritan until the tow truck arrived. By this time, the one hour trip for my class has now turned in to a 3 hour disaster. Even with the police there with their lights on, cars are blowing their horn and hollering. Only thing I can say, Thank you, Thank you to the retired Army guy that was my Good Samaritan and tried to help. Thank you for the Constable that stopped to try to help and called the tow truck company the third time. For all of the Texan drivers that blew their horns at me and hollered at the white haired lady in the dress on the side of the road, I hope that you never get in that situation and IF you do I hope that somebody stops and help you.
