Would you like to make a difference to someone in our church? Elders with limited mobility have a difficult time going to the grocery, carrying their items home, cooking a meal, and cleaning up afterwards. I heard about something called Soup-er Saturdays from the UMW at Crew Lake and Columbia UMC. They meet at the church once a month, cook soup, and deliver it to the shut-ins of their church. This is a tangible way to care for and express the love of Christ for the Body of Christ. On Saturday, April 12, I plan to start a monthly Soup-er Saturday here at FUMC Monroe, to help some of our members with a healthy meal while demonstrating to them that they are still important to the church and loved by us.
