Boat Building Class Build a 14-foot Outboard Skiff with Jeff Lane April 29-June 5, 2014 Tuesday and Thursday Evenings, 5 to 9 p.m. $750 per person (10 percent discount for LBS members) Non-refundable $250 Deposit Required Traditional Rigging Skills Workshop Splicing whipping, serving, seizing, etc. Susanna Clark Instructor Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. $110 per person (10 percent discount for LBS members) Susanna Clark is currently a professional rigger aboard the Mayflower II. She has sailed around the world on traditionally rigged vessels and is a professional sailmaker. 2014 Summer Youth Rowing Program Four Sessions: June 30 to July 8, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($150) July 14 to July 18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($250) July 28 to July July 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Just for girls) ($150) August 11 to August 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($150) Under the direction of experienced and certified instructors, boys and girls will learn traditional rowing commands, the planning of a water trip, basic marine safety, and appreciation of the surrounding nature, wildlife and history. Programs begin and end each day at Lowells Boat Shop, in Amesbury. All programs are geared toward fostering proficiency on the water, self-reliance and and confidence in youth from 9 to 14 years old.
