Wounded Warrior Project® Dave Smith It is estimated 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and PTSD. Donate Now The lifesaving impact of your support of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is the best way you can help brave heroes who gave their all to protect our freedom — like Dave Smith. He returned from two tours of “some of the most intense, close up, nasty fighting of the entire war” with no serious physical injuries … but, he was a different man. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) left him teetering on the brink of life and death. He started drinking heavily, engaged in reckless behavior, and severed ties to everyone close to him. When Dave broke up with his girlfriend, he told her he was contemplating suicide. His phone soon filled up with messages from family and friends begging to know if he was okay. “Those messages saved my life … It was time for me to stop pretending, stop making excuses, and get the help I needed.” — Dave Smith Our Peer Support program provided Dave with much needed support during his recovery process. Dave has made remarkable progress since he became involved with WWP — in fact, he is now helping fellow veterans, serving as a Peer Mentor himself. Dave is “Living The LogoTM,” — like the courageous hero in the WWP logo, carrying a wounded comrade to safety, making sure no warrior is left behind. Today I ask you to Live the LogoTM too by supporting warriors like Dave Smith, with a generous gift of $50, $75, $100 or more. Thank you, Steven Nardizzi Steven Nardizzi Chief Executive Officer Wounded Warrior Project
