Wow! Beautiful example of paying it forward! I have had such a hard time being a taker instead of a giver lately. I much prefer to be the one helping others and before I got so sick, I did just that...donating to fundraisers, helping with a friends funeral expenses for her child, purchasing a new McGruff the Crime Dog costume for our local police department, paying for Matts lawyers, etc. It feels SO good to give and it feels equally as bad to have to take now. But since my health has declined, and thus my ability to work, and since almost half of Matts check is taken from him before he even sees it, and since my medical expenses have gone through the roof...we are forced to be in a position to ask for help from time to time for things such as my surgery, Natalies camp, Sophies vet expenses, etc. This video just reminds me, as a dear friend told me the other day, what goes around comes around. I cant wait for the day when I am healed more, earning more income and paying out less in medical expenses so that I can go back to being a giver! But until then, Ill try to remember that, just as there is no shame in those who have needed my help in the past, theres no shame in our current struggle. No one ever knows when life might deal them circumstances beyond their control that affects them physically, emotionally and financially. It can happen to anyone. Thats just how life goes. But if we trust God and accept His will and trust in Him to provide, He always does. Today, that person who God sends to help another might be you. Tomorrow, God may require humbleness and humility from you by placing you in a position of need. That support, whether it comes from you or is needed by you, is a beautiful reflection of Gods love and His greatest commandment...to love one another. If no one was ever in a position of need, wed never get to see and experience this beauty. So I accept where God has me right now and I will focus more on the beauty that comes from the kind and generous people in our lives who have loved us enough to help us through tough times and less on the guilt that tries to take center stage and dim that beauty. Thank you to all of you that have supported us, either financially, spiritually, emotionally or physically (I.e. meals brought to us, rides given, etc.) You know who you are. Please recognize how much beauty and love you bring to the world, even with one small act of kindness. What goes around truly does come around. And its a beautiful thing to see, no matter your circumstances.
