Wow! I am soooo freaking excited about this! Every musician I know PLEASE print out this little piece of paper and carry it with them onto the airplanes. This law, thanks to the AFM Union (American Federation of Musicians) could actually give us a leg to stand on when we are being harrassed, castigated, treated like criminals in the airports. This August when I had to fly back to Honolulu I finally had my first full on sobbing breakdown in an airport because of this treatment. They took my guitar away from me at the gate check area after they gave everybody else back their strollers and wheelchairs, they lost it, took 5 guys to find it, made me leave the secure area and go on a tram to baggage for something they could have just given me with the strollers when we got off the plane, then after I got my baby back, I had to go back through security inside the same airport I landed in(Honolulu) and at which point I missed my plane ...the last plane off Oahu that night and then told me after 20 hours of traveling I had to spend the night on the floor. Mind you this was 2 days after Billy died, so I wasnt doing too good.... I pretty much started freaking out so much the airline got me a hotel and a new plane ticket. However, this has happened to me in Denver, New Jersey, and San Francisco, Seattle...FINALLY something to protect us troubadours from the fascist whims of airport security who are in a weird or mean mood that day! TO ALL MY MUSICIAN FRIENDS PLEASE READ THIS AND PRINT IT OUT FOR YOUR PROTECTION WHILE FLYING! This is even better than the United Breaks Guitars video which you should also google. I sure do love that old man who runs the AFM for lobbying congress for this. Yeaya! Also I totally agree with Ari ...Southwest is the best treatment to musicians, all the other airlines...supersketch in their consistency to musicians
