Wow. I was born in Selma and never took any time to learn details about Bloody Sunday and the march to Montgomery. Well, interest in this movie, Selma, led me to take 10 minutes to learn a few facts. I didnt know that Bloody Sunday was the first of 3 protest marches and that the 3rd march ended at the capital on my birthday, March 25. Thanks go to the leaders and the common folk that had the courage to STAND UP TOGETHER for our rights. Lets all share details with our young people about Bloody Sunday and how such sacrifices led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act. #TeachthemtoReachthem
