Wow. Just for kicks & giggles, I clicked on Apply now which took me only as far as a sign-in pg. Both pgs were https. Im not super tech-savvy, but it looks like a legitimate job posting! Love how the chosen applicant will also do fundraising which would probly help speed the process along, per: •Liaise with UNDP and donor community to raise voluntary contributions for DDR programmes; although I admittedly dont really know what all the acronyms stand for, except DDR, which is in in the job title itself! While the UN is based in NY, and has its operations worldwide, the job posting doesnt specify (other than emphasizing the English-speaking aspect over French-speaking) where the person would be posted, which could mean its not really aimed @ NYers, but somewhere else in the world. Or could it cover conflicts here as well as elsewere (& why wouldnt it be both)? From further down (asterisks added for emphasis): Work Experience A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration or related area. Experience working within peacekeeping, peace-building or development programmes operations is desirable. Experience with *small arms control,* *conflict/post-conflict crisis management,* economic recovery is desirable. Experience coordinating multiple partner agencies, funds or programmes is desirable.
