Wow. Slumber party ideas are so ridiculously gender biased. The kids are having a few friends over on Friday and I thought Id Google some ideas just in case we have some down time. So I get makeovers, mall scavenger hunt, fashion show, making tutus, decorating jewelry boxes, TALK ABOUT BOYS. Seriously? So I add the word boys to my search. Then I get NERF gun fight, football challenge, basketball challenge, skateboarding, fishing, camping, mixing two different foods together and eating them, etc. Both boys and girls are invited to the sleepover, and Im not really into this tutu girls and sports/outdoors boys crap. I guess Im just going to stick with the stuff I was thinking about doing. Pizza, board games, marble run, Legos, maybe some Mario Party 8 on the Wii. I have this cool kids cooking book that has a recipe for overnight french toast, so I thought the kids could make their own breakfast before we all go to bed. Well probably settle down with a movie before lights out. Mostly I think the kids will be finding ways to entertain themselves just like an overnight play date. None of the things we have at our house are really boy things or girl things. I guess next time Ill go with my gut and not bother searching for crap online.
