Wow... This is what happens when personal responsibility gets replaced with a victim mentality. I feel bad for the kids learning these helplessness lessons from their mother. My parents had 5 kids, entry level jobs (because their Polish credentials were not accepted in Canada) and there was always real food at home. Soups (home made) are not expensive, walking/stairs/body weight exercises are not expensive. I understand that food is expensive (junk and real) and that it can feel like a daunting task to try to cook when you dont have experience (making a bit of an assumption, yes), but the cost of poor health far outweighs the grocery bill...
