Wow! Yet another pic with a celebrity in the field of science. This time it is Michio Kaku, a theoretical physicist and the co-founder of string field theory which is related to Einsteins equations. Michio Kaku is a popularizer of physics. In presenting concepts he is at the same level as Richard Feynman, a world famous Nobel prize winning physicist. Kaku, when he was in his school had built a 2.3 million volt electron accelator in his garage which was powerful enough to rip off anyone if he/she walked by the magnets. This school project got him to Harvard University. Kaku got his BS from Harvard University and PhD from University of California at Berkeley. Kaku has written several books including Hyperspace, Physics of the Impossible, Physics of the Future and The Future of the Mind. Most of his books have been New York Times bestsellers. He has given several interviews, gave talks at many universities, and appeared in many TV programs. He is now one of the most famous personalities in physics. Kaku had come to my Stony Brook University to give a talk on The Future of the Mind. He talked about the present and possible future research directions in the treasure island of the mind such as telepathy, memory, sleep, consciousness, controlling mind and the artificial mind. It was a treat for me as even I strongly believe that the next big revolution in science will be the science of the mind. Anyway, I was damn lucky to get a picture with Michio Kaku, a great teacher and inspirer.
