Wow, has it really been that long? 18 years ago this day seemed so far away. Now I look back, on the day this journey started and it seems as if it passed in the blink of an eye. You see, 18 years ago today I was blessed with a beautiful baby daughter. Marissa, so beautiful, so perfect and fit so perfectly when I held her in my arms close to my heart. It has been a journey to reach this day. Filled with first steps, first words, first days of school, first dances, first love, first heartache, and first prom. This day is now the beginning of many more firsts as you start a new journey, one in which you are free to make your own decisions and chose your own path to accomplish the goals that you set to achieve. I look back on these 18 years with fond memories and look forward to watching you continue to grow and come into your own. Marissa, I love you and wish you the happiest birthday. I am so proud of you!! Always remember this, no matter where this new journey may lead you, how old you may be, you will always be in my heart that baby girl..so beautiful, so perfect and fit so perfectly in my arms when I hold you so close to my heart. I am blessed and proud that you call me Mom.
