Wow....my husband just had an experience the other day and it still bothers my flesh. I wasnt going to share it but it speaks directly to the question asked by one of my friends about titles and if people should respect them, so maybe God wants me to speak this. Titles were given in order to show status and to gain respect. But because of sin and the condition of this corrupt world that we so desperately cling to, people dont respect titles, not even the title God, let alone the titles husband and or wife. In todays world you have to respect yourself and others. If youre a husband or a wife, or a mother, or a father, or a Pastor, or a President act like one. Live up to your title and in doing so, you demand your respect. And if people dont want to respect you after that, dismiss them from your presence, and your life if necessary. Just like the bible tells us, leave the dirt from the bottom of your shoes at their door and do it moving! My husband encountered women on his job, and told them he was married, and even talked about me to them all day. But by the end of the encounter one propositioned him, and basically told him that it didnt matter if he was married. My response is this, you reep whatever you sow, good and bad. So one day when it comes back around, and it will be worse, God will remind them of their disregard for the institution of marriage that He established in the beginning. Their men wont be able to resist evil cause I doubt that these women will get husbands. So in the end, its not the title its the honor and respect that you demonstrate with your title!
