Wow this morning we have been given this verbal description of the rubble stone coverup of the WW1 &WW11 Monument, words to the effect, the design has created a look the same as the Memorial Hall. I will leave that opinion to the eye of the beholder. A nomination is currently being prepared for the Soldiers Memorial Hall to be included on the State Register of Heritages Places of WA. A recent drawing released by shire shows a not very complimentary addition of ramps and rails along with garden beds along the sandstone entrance wall of the Soldiers Memorial Hall is in the works, budget has been set aside for it we believe. No heritage advice has been sought by shire as far as we are aware. The design is created by shires usual supplier ECO ANGLE. The access ramp is to do with current standards but is not in sympathy at all with heritage or logistics of a sandstone building. Possibly a better design to satisfy laws etc can be found.
