Wow, what a first week. Words cannot begin to describe the beauty of North Wales and in particular Snowdonia National Park. A 5 hour trip from our base in High Wycombe to the Welsh seaside town of Criccieth. We passed cities like Birmingham on the way, its bloody huge, and beautiful little Welsh towns such as LLangollen and Beddgelert all filled with wonderful histories of great battles and incredible feats. The weather has been incredibly mild, so much so that I was able to go for a swim (I was the only one in the water mind you). Beautiful days in the early to mid 20s, shorts and t-shirt days. The people of North Wales are so welcoming and we could sit and listen to their accents for days, the sing-song way they speak, very musical Weve sampled such english delights as Toad in the Hole and fish and chips with cod and plaice, and even the humble crisp sandwich tastes great over here, and we have walked many a mile through country that puts you immediately in the mind of Tolkiens middle earth. I have attached photos, enjoy. Next stop, take in a local football game, Wycombe Wanderers (aka, the chair boys) then London Sunday and off to Liverpool on Monday where Ill be a guest of the mighty Liverpool FC thanks to the Reagan Milstein Foundation culminating in a night at Anfield to watch the Mighty reds in the champions league.
