Wow.. what a way to start the week! 12 kids from the Blanchard GreyhoundRacing Kennel at Jacksonville strapped it on this evening and 10 of them hit the board while bringing home 2 convincing wins! Our first win came tonight in the 4th race - a Grade C 3/8s contest where Mega Nicaragua (Nika) would make quick work of this race. Hittin the lid, Nika would explode out of the box to jump out on front of her race and never give up that quick, early lead shed laid claim to. Way to go Nika... back on up to Grade B, girlfriend! Win #2 came courtesy of Flying Plaxico (Plaxicocooooo!). And not only did Plax bring home the win, but, he did it in the evenings best time - meaning he ran the 550 yard course faster than any other dog this evening. Good boy, Plax! Anyway, the name of his game is a solid break and HUGE rush to the turn and pulling away to a big lead on the backside and holding on for dear life as he sprints to the finishline! And thats pretty much how it all shaped up for Plax this evening. What it all added up to was his 2nd consecutive win... way to go, Plax! Keep it going big boy! Id be remiss if I didnt mention others who share in every bot of success we have - Mr. Jim Blanchard... President of the FGA and my boss. Hes always just a phonecall away for any questions/concerns I have and hes yet to ask me, Why did you buy this? when I send him my weekly receipts! Then theres James Blanchard. James and I text non-stop all day bouncing question, ideas, and suggestions off one another. Sarah (who maintains the BGR FB page) and I are always exchanging stories, jokes, pictures... and shes also the one who keeps me up to speed on the new pups shes helped to break in down in Miami who eventually come up to me here in Jacksonville. And then theres my right-hand man in the kennel, my Assistant Trainer, Chris Maynard - Chris is as dedicated a young man around the pups as youre going to find. A tireless worker who aims to improve his knowledge at every turn - he is without a doubt a vital cog in the machine And last but not least, our part-time helper, Ginger Cowley, who comes in a few mornings a week, helps with turnouts, and picks up several cards. Without her help, Id be 1000000 times more tired than i AM NOW :) So, while Im the one sharing these stories and such - we have a machine. And right now, that machine is well-oiled! No racing at Orange Park tomorrow, so off to bed
