Wow what an amazing play with my Lorenzo today! Had some more fun - TopicsExpress

Wow what an amazing play with my Lorenzo today! Had some more fun on the 45foot line and helping him stretch emotionally. At our fast canter, border line gallop he only disunited a couple of times both ways, in which I helped him change his legs by speeding him up and then wow did he come down to earth fairly quick after that. I really found the power of singing today in our Online session and I noticed how much calmer he was during our fast paced circles. MY goal that I could push him up into a faster canter and that we would stay LB the whole and we almost achieved this! Played with some zones on the circle to help him relax more and then some stretching. He blew quite a few times which was awesome. Progressed our short range play to looping my savvy string onto my belt (ah not tied tho ;-) ) and played with hands free and energy and bend. Lots of fun! Our warm up in the saddle was very short sweet and successful, and it was pretty much done in no time. I was so impressed with him! Yeilds with no reins at the walk, trot and canter no worried. Spiral to the middle at the canter and also did a little passanger lesson at the trot and he stretched and blew. passanger lesson gave me thr chance to focus on my fluidity, sitting back some more and loosening up some body parts. Decided to try something different today to help me not worry about what he does at the canter. It was a combination of singing, whistling and moving my arm around above my head. Yeh I know weird combination. Anyone driving down the rd would have been like...Wat tha?? Good think they couldnt hear my singing. Hehe. Well the result was a very LB horsie and even at a fast canter, a more independent me on my balance and focus and overall it felt great. He only disunited a couple of times at the start but once we got going, he just cruized. Decided to go up a notch today and a bit more speed. Yeh put my arms down for this task but still sang as we galloped around the arena. He did not disunite once! Whoop whoop. We got stops and hq yeilds to the middle with more reins and felt totally in control. Way to go Lorry! Decided in our cool down to have a little play with finesse, more so for my muscle memory and then did some Colleen Kelly Rider Biomechanics exercises as well. Soft feel was nice at the walk, just getting a nice rythmn going again. Played with leg yeilds and porcupine game and establishing a comfort spot along the rail. Yup this helped a lot! Much more responsive porcupine game in our leg yeilds today. Looking forward to tomorrows session and maybe we are ready to work on our Freestyle Flying changes again. Just maybe..... ;-)
