Write to White House: Pres. Obama again. Copy of Razom for Ukraine letter below (link: whitehouse.gov/contact/submit-questions-and-comments): Dear Mr. President, President Putin seized Crimea under the pretext of the illegal referendum of March 16th, 2014, and has commenced to invade Eastern Ukraine. Incursions pushing further west pose an imminent threat to NATO states. The Russian government is acting in defiance of all of the principles of international law, and is violating internationally binding agreements such as: Article 2 of UN charter, which prohibits the use of force to acquire foreign territory, and affirms respect for the integrity and sovereignty of member states; Helsinki Final Act of 1975, in which signatories agreed to refrain from the use of force, to respect territorial integrity, to settle disputes peacefully, to avoid foreign interventions in internal affairs, and affirmed the inviolability of frontiers; Budapest Memorandum of 1994 in which Russia agreed to provide security assurances to Ukraine and respect Ukraine’s borders, integrity and sovereignty. You are the most powerful guarantor of Ukraine’s independence and security. I urge you to act concretely and decisively to halt Russia’s dangerous aggression that threatens stability of the region and world peace. Mr. President, please act immediately: Provide military aid to Ukraine; Convene an Article 4 meeting of NATO, and deploy NATO troops to Poland and to the Baltic states to ensure the safety of these NATO members; Dispatch US military to deliver humanitarian assistance and act as a peacekeeping force. Increase the US Navy presence in the Black Sea and bring US ships closer to Ukrainian ports; Withdraw the right for Russian aircraft to land in the US; Work with the EU to halt construction of the South Stream pipeline; Remove Russia from the G8 and hold the next G7 meeting in Kyiv, Ukraine; Impose economic, financial and trade sanctions against Russia and other members of the Customs Union; Impose sanctions against all members of Russian Government, their families, and all instigators of crimes against Ukraine; Grant processing priority to refugees from Crimea based on priority 1 and 2 of the US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) Mr. President, please do everything in your power to stop Russian aggression before it’s too late. The people of the world believe in your courage and strength to stand up and do what is right.
