** Writing Wednesday, December 3, 2014 *** Wednesday, December 3 Is he the God of Jews only? It is also the people of the nations? (Rom. 3:29) Although in ancient Israel foreigners they had the same rights of the Israelites, they still had to treat them fairly and respectfully. Foreigners drew benefit from living in close contact with the Israelites of birth. This was in keeping with the thought of Jehovah on the subject expressed by the apostle Paul in todays text. Thanks to the new covenant, the congregation of anointed Christians replaced literal Israel, becoming the nation with which God would have had a special relationship. It is therefore called the Israel of God (Gal. 6:16). As Paul explained, in this new nation, there is neither Jew nor greek, circumcision nor uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and in all (Col. 3:11). In this sense, then, in the Christian congregation there would be foreigners. w12 15/12 4: 2-4
