Writing, editing, re-working. Solved the last problem, basically - TopicsExpress

Writing, editing, re-working. Solved the last problem, basically by realizing I needed to just keep it simple. Strange how things in retrospect can seem to obvious, but at the time are complicated. The solution was already there. Basically the problem was how to get from one scene to another, so I was imagining all sorts of interim scenes, to act as a bridge. But then it came to me. Readers dont always need a bridge - you dont need to be led through every step. I know that reading is as creative as writing. A writer suggests, a reader fills in. I create the characters, you bring them alive in your minds. Its one of the great joys of reading for me - that act of co-creation. So I needed to trust you. Once I came to that, the rest was simple. Thats a big part of the editing process - when to create and when to step back and let you do your thing. Not make it so skeletal that you dont know what Im getting at, but not spoon feed you or treat you as anything less than a partner. Such a relief, and such fun, having you for company on the literary adventure. Now - get back to work!
