Writing letter to music department at UF on behalf of Charlie Hudson, any help, edits or suggestions greatly appreciated. Not sure how to approach this application letter and if a signature drive is the way to go? ................ We here by appeal the University the Miami to grant an honorary degree in music education to the esteemed Grand Fiddle Master Charlie Hudson. The point of musical ability Sir Hudson has achieved renders great musicians speechless; his abilities go far beyond 99% of all classically trained University music graduates. Sir Charlie is a musician’s, musician able to orchestrate a different rhythm on top of a completely different rhythm briefly alternating the accompaniment in a free style nature beyond virtuous or prodigy. In addition, Sir Hudson should be considered a state treasure because he has preserved a nearly extinct historical and culturally significant style of fiddle playing, which directly unites two continents, combining complex layered African drum rhythms to a European classical orchestra instrument. His style is uniquely American and culturally Floridian. In a land where the bongo is a drum and we are expected to shake are butts in the sun, where Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan monopolize all the radio sound producing frequency machines, we have a lost and nearly forgotten buried state treasure, whose accomplishment go officially unrewarded or recognized. Sir Hudson is a simple and humble sole, a cowboy by dress and appearance, who is an all around nice guy, quick with a smile and often dancing and hopping on one cowboy boot while playing his fiddle at ultra small gatherings, such as fire houses, and Veterans clubs. Sir Hudson has been the unofficial glue, which bound local musicians to the South Florida Bluegrass Association and made it the oldest nonprofit Bluegrass Association in the United States. This was no easy task since; musicians are notability hard and difficult folk, which struggle to find common ground, egotistical by nature and well beyond eccentric. If there is such an institute, which accredits achievement in the State, in the field of music than Sir Hudson deserves to be recognized at the highest level, equal to a professor. Sir, Grand Fiddle Master Charlie Hudson is not and will not be replaceable to South Florida. https://youtube/watch?v=LLutPK98H4o
