Written 2.14.14 Natural Then Spiritual: We want the snow to stop, the cold to thaw. God wants our hearts to thaw out too. Much like the snow that keeps on falling Our lives keep accumulating sin Layer upon layer Thickened skin Hardened heart Cold and brittle Collecting iniquity Until we cant get out And he cant come in Our weather Only reflects us within We grow tired of being locked up inside We try to shovel out Create a path thats wide Enough to get us out for a while Until sin Accumulates a fresh new pile So we trust in our shovels, our plows, our predictions And we resist the truth And settle for fiction Because only God Can rescue us from our addictions Only God can warm the earth Release re-birth Water the ground And honor the sound Of prayers heard He gives us space To keep our Word So let us heed The lessons Now And spend our time Bending ear to God Seeing what he makes visible The Natural lesson Then the Spiritual. ©2014 SAC
