These changes enter our lives Through many different windows Marriage, birth of a child, a new job, A promotion or relocating An accident, illness, death of someone close All the events, in being alive Create or cause excitement, joy, Introspection, possible disruption, Sadness or stress As we come through the passage Of these acute experiences Blending them with the past Our lives continue We adjust, change and grow Some of these windows of time Seem easier to work through than others Through experience, maturity and aging We learn to seize each day Finding tranquil moments Drawn into the simple beauty Of being alive And discovering That living today Like it is the only day You have Provides some calm In your path Toward tranquility
