Written by my friend Neil Greenburg: There was a brief, shining hour in America, starting right after WWII, when the rich were perfectly content to have more than they could ever spend and leave plenty for the rest of us to divide. This was when the top tax rate was actually 91%. And the Fords and Rockefellers did not complain about being soaked or feeling like they were suffering the Nazi invasion of Poland (as current biliousaire Steven Schwartzman has whined). Thats over. Now there is no enough and they have convinced each other that the game is grab all you can, even if you couldnt spend it in a hundred lifetimes.
