Wu-Tang Clan invented mixtapes! Sure early hip hop style cassettes existed pre-92, but no one really conceptually & artistically pushed the Rap album idea, and those tunes, protect ya neck, method man, triumph, shimmy, shimmy ya, C.R.E.A.M., ext. IMO, NO1 in America (YE/DRE/2SHORT/JAY/PUSH? :D ) have ever done it better! Besides their solos are sick, GZA & Raekwons are my personal favs, though Ghostface Killah & RZAs are also AMAZING. If it wasnt for Old Dirty Bastard... All this Death Grips and Mykki Blanco punk/rap, he pioneered that style...
